Operation Closet Ready

A week ago, I started "Operation Closet Ready" and had no Idea how long this would take. I was looking for specific shelves that would hold shoes, purses, jeans, and tank tops. My husband started googling some locations and he found The Container Store. Luckily, we had one near by and we decided to check it out. There was so much stuff in that store that I felt like I was in container heaven! After browsing through the store, I found exactly what I was looking for and was ready to start this project.  I had so many clothes that I no longer need, so I think it was time to start giving away.
Here's the rule: If you've had your clothes for more than a year, I think it's time to let go. You might say to yourself, "but I know I can use this for something else." Trust me, I've been saying that for more than two years, and I still didn't use some of the stuff. I know it's hard to let go, but it will be Just look at it this way, you will have more space for new pieces! :)
After three bags of clothes and one bag of shoes, I am satisfied with the outcome and just love how organized my closet looks. It's so me! I don't have to go crazy looking for a specific pair of shoes or purse. There are little things that I still need to work on, but It's all a working progress.

Holy Molly what a mess! Excuse the chaos.

How to keep your boots standing up straight.

You could use whatever you want to keep your boots standing up straight. Some people use wine bottles, regular bottles, etc. I decided to use the cover of a shoe box. All you have to do is cut the ends of the cover, which are firm and they allow your boots to stand up straight.

and voilá! Your boots stay in place.

The pink rug feels so comfy under my toes ^_^.

The shoe boxes on the top shelf have flat sandals that I wanted to put away, since winter is coming up. I don't have to have them in display.

The top shelf has all my jeans, colored skinny's, print skinny's. To the far right I have shorts, tank tops folded, and rolled.
The bottom shelf has my clutches on the left and the purses on the right.

So much better! I can see my shoes!

I bought this flower vase from Wal-Mart and decided to use it as a bangle/bracelet holder.

My necklaces are displayed and easy to access. Now, I don't have to worry about them getting tangled. Don't you hate that? I have magazines just in case I need to be inspired before I start looking for an outfit ;) The vase with the bangles and bracelets and the white Brocade Open Bin holds all my rings. To the right is a frame I bought from TJMaxx; I might put a picture or an inspirational quote.

I hung some of my scarfs on the hanger pole and behind that is a shoe box filled with more scarfs. I didn't want to display them all because then I wouldn't have room.

So much better!

On the door I have all my belts, headbands, and hats hanging.
I am glad that I could share with you all my closet space and hope I've given you ideas to make your space as comfy as possible. If you have any other ideas on how to better your closet space, please share!

Have a good one!

Fall Trends

I was searching through Pinterest and was inspired with so many looks for this Fall. I started saving some of my favorite's and coming up with ideas on how I would style them. The weather in San Diego has been over the 80's, It's late September and still no chilly weather? What's going on? Oh well, all I know is that I am waiting patiently, so I can start layering pieces together. Wearing tights, scarfs, and boots just makes me so happy! How about you?

Scarfs are one of my fav's for the Fall. Especially ones that have a pop of color.

If you choose a maroon purse as your statement, you could pretty much create your outfit around the bag. This dark blue goes perfect with the maroon color. Making the whole look very chic.

This look is so me. I love the two print combo, especially the tights and boots. Cute colors for the fall.

You can never go wrong with a burgundy blazer.

The sweater and chambray shirt is a trend I will definitely try. You will be nice and warm!

All about the Bag

First, I want to apologize for the lack of posts lately. Working full time and focusing on finals this past weekend took most of my time but I'm back!
The color of this purse has Fall written all over it. When I first saw it, I knew I had to have. You can pretty much create your whole look just with this bag. I like how the color of the purse brings out the colors of the skirt; so vibrant and playful!

I wasn't kidding when I stated a few posts back that one of my color's for fall was purple. I love how vibrant these skinny's are, and how easy you could pair them up with any cute top you may have laying around in your closet. I am enjoying my wedges as much as I can before the cold weather hits; then again, this is San Diego where the weather is  perfect!

Goodbye 20's and Hello 30!

Friday, the 14th was my last day to enjoy my 20's. I cannot believe I've entered the 30 year bracket. I knew eventually this day would come but it didn't hit me until I could say, "Jealeyni, you are 30!" I know it could seem a little scary to be 30, but I am actually looking forward to embrace my life even more. I've learned so much these couple of years that I am ready to embrace whatever comes my way. I've learned to enjoy every moment in life and not to take anything for granted. Instead of worrying about the little things, I am going to focus on the positive and not allow negativity take control of my life. So, with that being said, I am happy to be a 30 year old woman that still looks like she's 20. It's all about staying healthy and enjoying life. I had to go with a big bang with my last look as a 29 year old! Isn't this dress stunning?!

Two Prints Are Better

Today's weather in San Diego was very weird. The place where I work was more gloomy and kind of chilly, but once I made it downtown, the sun was out and it was in the 80's. I found that weird but hey, who said you can't make a look stand out on a gloomy day? Believe it or not, this is a peplum top and I love how I can just wear it as a regular top. You would be amazed on how one piece of clothing can work on different types of looks. It's all about coming up with new ways to make your look more fun!

Finally, I get to finish this post. Ok, if you follow me through Instagram and Twitter, you may know that last week my bestie and I attended the Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference (IFBCON) in NYC. It was a two-day conference filled with valuable information. This was my first conference as a fashion blogger, and I can say that I learned a lot! I have to admit, I was a little intimidated and nervous to be surrounded by many wonderful fashion blogger's; however, I did not let that freak me out. I am excited because I left the conference meeting a new friend - Alyssa from Runway Chef. She's so cool and down-to-earth! Make sure you check her blog out. Below I will leave you with some of the pictures I took those two awesome days! Enjoy! :)
My new friend! Alyssa :)

Yes, I got to meet my favorite fashion blogger and my inspiration to start my own blog - Kendi Skeen from Kendi Everyday
Met Julia from Gal Meets Glam. She's so sweet!
Met Lindsey from Saucy Glossie

Follow the Arrow

Happy Sunday everyone! Today was a relax day with the Hubby. We watched the Patriots play the Titans and went to Ihop for breakfast to catch up on my mini-vacation in NYC.  I had such an amazing time (minus the rain). I've never worked out so much in my life! NYC can really keep you fit. All the walking I did, I think I lost a couple of pounds (sike!) lol.

I found this cute dress from Forever 21 hiding somewhere in my messy closet that I've had over a year now and decided to wear it today. I was going for a comfy, girly, country kind of look ;).

Arrow necklace (sterling-silver): Stelladot

Ankle Boots (Similar): Lulus

Dainty ring: H&M

Have a great weekend!

On the Bricks

What are the chances of someone meeting a fashion model while taking outfit pictures? Slim to none, right?  Well, today was my lucky day. While my friend took pictures during our break from IFBCON, Iman's car pulls up in front of the building and I was fortunate enough to take two pictures of her before she headed inside. She's just so beautiful and sweet. She asked my friend and I how we were doing and that's all I needed to make my day! What a perfect way to end this two day conference. I am one satisfied fashionista.

I leave you with one of the pictures my friend took of her. Isn't she gorgeous?
