Royal Blue

Hello Loves! If you follow me on Twitter, you know I am enjoying the last days of 2012 in Puerto Rico. The weather here is perfect. In the mornings it's hot, but as soon as the sun goes down you feel the cool breeze. I am enjoying every second with loved ones and eating as much Puerto Rican food as I can. Like my mom would say, "Once a year won't hurt."
This royal blue purse was one of my gifts on my Christmas wishlist. I am not too fond of the color blue but for some reason this purse and color stood out to me. I love the simplicity of it and how it's a shoulder strap purse perfect for sightseeing.
Hubby is still playing around with my new Canon Rebel T4I but I am already loving the quality of these pictures.

Trip Packing Tips

For the most part, packing can be the stressful part of a trip. The dilemma of what shoes to wear, or did I bring enough tops? Should I bring a pair of shoes for each outfit? It's safe to say that we've all pretty much been there. Coming from a girl who would take an extra suitcase just for shoes, trust me, there is no need to bring them all. The key is to prepare outfits with versatile pieces according to the weather of your destination.

Leopard is a must. It works as a neutral color and pretty much goes with anything. If you wanted, you can opt the leopard flats to a skinny belt or purse, whichever you prefer.

Stripe & pattern tops are a great option. I could wear them with colored jeans, leggings, shorts, or skinnies.

From my last trip to Puerto Rico, I mostly wore my black Toms everywhere. They are comfortable shoes and perfect for sightseeing. My black pumps will go perfect with my New Year's Eve dress. Last, a pair of wedges are just right. So you see, with 4 pair of shoes, I can make my outfits work.
Finally, dress up your looks with some of your favorite accessories and your look is done!
What are some of your tips?

It's Official! We will be spending New Years Eve in Puerto Rico. I am so excited and looking forward to spending time with family. This time of year (the holidays) are the best. You get to enjoy the parties with loved ones, the food, and music.  I don't remember the last time I celebrated New Years in Puerto Rico, but I am looking forward to it!

Now, I need to start packing. Our flight is tomorrow and as usual, I leave packing to the last minute.

What are your plans for New Years Eve?

Early Xmas

It's Christmas Eve! I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow. Hopefully everyone has survived the chaos that goes along with Christmas shopping. Because of hubby's workschedule, this year we broke the rules and opened our christmas presents a little earlier.  I am so excited to announce that I am now the owner of a Canon-Rebel T4i! Can't wait to start taking pictures with it.
We are planning on spending new years in Puerto Rico with his side of the family. If all goes well, we should be leaving this friday. I am excited! It's always good to be back in the island. What are your plans for the holidays?

Swan & Stripes

Today's look consist of swans, stripes, jeans, and boots. When it comes to combining prints in an outfit, I am willing to experiment. Say yes to the prints! Combining both makes the look more abstract and fun. To make my look less casual, I added a sparkly necklace which adds a touch of elegance.

Dare be different?

Are you one of those people who critique a movie preview when you go to the theater? As soon as the preview ends you just say to the person next to you, "Oh, I am definitely going to watch that movie" or you just turn and say, "Yeah, that movie looks stupid." Well, do you know why that is? Is because at some level we are all critics. This also applies to fashion. You are walking around and you just criticize people's looks, whether silently to yourself or to the person next to you. It is in human nature to be competitive and want to "fit in," be better, or just different.

The lesson I take away from this is to not be afraid of expressing one's personality through looks. Be creative and different. Do what makes you happy and don't be afraid to express it through what you wear. Do you dare be different?

So, in a good note, here are some looks which I love from some of my favorite style bloggers and that take me to my happy place when we talk about all things fashion.

Wishing you a positive day!

I remember when I first laid eyes on this clutch. The color, simplicity, and did I mention fold-over? It just made me want it even more. It's a perfect size, and I can fill it with all the necessary products.

The soft sage color contrasts against the burgundy corduroy pants making the look more fun.

Infinity Circle

Not sure if this scarf seems familiar to you but it was one of the items listed in my x-mas wish list. I know, I know, but I couldn't help it. I had to take advantage of the sale. Now I am hoping none of my friends or family members bought it for me.
Lesson learned, when you see something you want, just buy it.

Hubby Style

Yesterday was the hubby's 29th Birthday (He's getting old. I kid), so today's post is dedicated to him.

So, the objective was to buy him an iPhone 5 (btw, these pictures were taken from my iPhone 5, not bad huh?), but he refused to let me buy him one.  In his words, he says he has a good working phone already, and he would not feel right getting another phone. Instead, he wanted more clothes, so my gift to him was to spoil him rotten with nice outfits.

This look was one of my favorite pieces I purchased for him. I am loving the black and white checker flannel shirt with the v-neck sweater over it. Makes him look so polished.

This is the first time he tries out colored jeans, and I'm so glad he liked them! He was such a good sport. I was a little hesitant in purchasing them at first, because I was unsure if he would wear them or not. Now, that he's tried them out, I can maybe convince him to slowly transition into brighter colors to his every day looks. Slowly but shortly, he's getting there.

What do you think of his look?
