I said it before and I will say it again, I love peplum tops! I can't get enough of them but before I go on, please disregard the crazy messy bun. The intent was for it to look messy; however, the wind decided to do its thing and instead, I look like one of the hyenas from Lion King...go ahead and laugh. I promise that was not the intent.

How adorable are these emerald shoes? I totally forgot I bought them at Forever 21 last weekend (they were hiding in a bag). There weren't that many left so once I saw my size, I snatched them before anyone else would get their hands on them. From past experiences, if you like something, go ahead and buy it. If you decide to overlook it and come back later, 9 out 10 what you want is gone.

The 3 C's

You're probably telling yourself, "summer is almost here and I have no clue what shoes to wear to work." I get it. We've all been there. First things first, go ahead and pull-out your favorite summer wedges or sandals and just see what you have to play with. If you don't have any, than you have a perfect excuse to go shopping. Am I right? Shhh...Don't fight it...just give in. Here are a couple of tips that may help you choose what's considered summer appropriate shoes for the workplace.

Casual Office - The word itself is self-explanatory. You can work with brighter or softer colored shades. This mint wedge is perfect for a casual Friday.

Conservative Office - It's up to you whether you want to wear a closed-toe or peep-toe, just make sure it doesn't look like you are about to hit the club. Just saying! You want to wear shoes more on the neutral side. Black, grey, or nude always works.

Creative Office - This has my name written all over it! If you follow me on twitter, you probably read my tweet on how these cuties are out of stock in my size! No bueno. Hopefully they come back a.s.a.p. because I need them in my life! You can pretty much pull of any shoes but make sure it balances out the whole look. Play with colors and prints!

Remix: Lace Dress

It's Remix time! The best part of styling is coming up with different looks and having fun while creating it. Once again, I'm wearing my favorite spring/summer lace dress which I originally wore in my "coral me up" post.  This adorable little piece has an elastic coral band attach to it which makes the dress super fun to style. With today's look, I decided to dress it up by wearing these adorable two-toned shoes and adding a floral blazer for some sophistication and elegance. You can always dress down the look by adding a denim vest or denim jacket and some colorful playful wedges just like I did above.
Which look is your favorite?

Red, White, & Blue

Another treasure find at the thrift store this weekend! This was my Memorial Day look and of course, I had to wear our beautiful flag colors.  Lately, shopping for shorts has been a mission. I can never seem to find a pair of shorts that call my attention; however, I'm happy I found these cute denim ones! How cool is it when you can turn a dress into a top? I bet you didn't even think this was a top huh? Indeed it is my friends. That's the key, find pieces that are versatile and easy to work with.

Hubby and I just chilled at our place and reminisced about our war stories. As he played out his experiences while fighting the war in Iraq, I thank God how he always kept him safe. However, it's still saddens me to hear that some of his battle buddies didn't make it. We must be thankful for every moment we have because you never know when your time is up. Those who have fallen will never be forgotten.

The city of Temecula, California and its breathtaking views of the country fields is just unmatched. The husband and I have wanted to come and visit this gorgeous place, and I'm glad we chose to come up on Memorial Day weekend. The weather was just right and surprisingly, it was not crowded. We stayed at the South Coast Winery Resort & Spa and enjoyed the wine tour of Ponte Winery. If you decide to visit the southern part of California, I promise you will enjoy the serenity, rolling hills, and vineyards Temecula has to offer.

Happy Anniversary Blog: One Year

Would anyone even care about my style? There is way better fashion/style blogger's than me. Am I wasting my time? You see, these are some of the doubts that lingered in my mind when I first began my blog...However; I change those thoughts into positivity.
Here we go...
Instead of a style post for my one year anniversary, I wanted to do something a little different and share a video with you. I am excited to share the good things I've accomplished within the first year of having my blog. Sorry for the awkwardness! It has been a challenging road, but I can honestly say that I've enjoyed each and every minute of it.
Who would've thought within a year I attended two conferences and come out in a high-end fashion magazine?! Uh-freaking-mazing!
Two things I take from this first year:
  •  never give up
  •  always strive to be better
For those starting a blog, there will be moments where you will feel overwhelmed or think you're not going anywhere; stop right there and change that attitude.
YOU will go as far as YOU want to go. It takes hard work, dedication, and commitment. I challenge YOU to become the best you can be. Never say never to anything. Even if it scares you, go for it and who knows what path it would lead you too.
I can't stress this enough...thank you everyone who believed in me and supports me in this journey, especially the love of my life, my hubby!

You guys, it takes guts to put yourself out there and share who you truly are, I am glad I did.
Can't wait to see what else is in store for DaintyJea!

As I write this post, I begin to reminisce how my style has evolved through the years. While in the Army, it was hard to incorporate my femininity outside of the uniform. Boy did I hate that. In order to counter that, I made sure at least I looked some what decent. A girl has to at least have her make-up on point! One can only improve.

The mixture

Out of all the pieces I own, I have to say skirts are the easiest to style. As you know, I can't get enough of prints so combining this pretty floral skirt with a polka dot top just adds the right touch to the look. Fashion is all about having fun and allowing your creative side to take over, so forget about what others think and create that fabulous outfit!

Romper season is here! Well, sort of. Who doesn't love a one-piece short suit? Rompers are super easy to style and don't require too much detail to it. Add a cute dainty belt with some cute wedges and you are set to go. By the way...
If you haven't seen my Facebook or Instagram, I posted some pictures of a few items I purchased at Plato's closet (check out the video I posted on facebook). Plato's Closet is a thrift store where you can find name brand clothes at affordable prices. This is perfect for summer! I was going through my drawers this weekend and realized I need to stock up on some shorts. So yea, thrift stores it is!

My Kind of Style

My style consists of plenty of colors, patterns, and comfort. I am in love with the vintage/modern style and how certain pieces could make your wardrobe look classic, elegant, and feminine. Have you seen my pinterest board? Talking about pinterest, I could stay in that site for hours and just pin everything but of course, I don't want to be "that" girl. So instead I leave you with some of my favorite pins that are currently in "my kind of style" board. By the way, if you are not in pinterest, just go ahead and slap yourself, just kidding!! But for real, you need to join! It's an amazing site where inspiration comes from fashion, food, DIY, quotes, etc. Enjoy! and Happy Friday!

The images below do not belong to me. They are all repins from the Pinterest website.
