Cutout Dress
dress: Lulus, necklace: ModCloth, wedges: Lulus, sunglasses: Ruche

Weather is starting to cool down and all I can think of is easy outfits that keep me nice and cool but stylish. I've been keeping an eye on this particular floral dress and love how it screams summer. Cutout dresses could be quite intimidating but could be pulled off. If you're interested in trying out this trend, go with a dress that shows a bit of skin but in an area you are more comfortable with; for example, below your collarbone. Whether you choose to go with a small or more revealing cut, this trend is a must try!

REMIX: Rockstar Floral Skinnies

                               Peplum Top                                                               Infinity

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a remix featuring one of my favorite printed jeans with subtle dainty flowers.  I love both of these looks but if I had to absolutely choose one, then I would have to say the peplum top stole my heart.  I just think is more fun and alive with the vibrant colors and flowers.  I really enjoy sharing with you remix looks because if you are anything like me, then you live on a budget and have to find ways to maximize your wardrobe using what you already have.  The floral peplum top with these rockstar floral jeans compliment each other very well.  For details and close-ups of each outfit, click the links above. Which one is your favorite?

Office Make-up

Makeup Trends

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Whether you work at a corporate office or a laid back office, the best make-up tip I can give you is the one that enhances your natural beauty. If you don't like to wear make-up, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that; however, I recommend looking as natural as you can while at the same time accentuating your best feature. You don't have to stand out from the crowd, just have enough make-up where you look professional and well put together.

Lips: Go with a color that matches your natural lip color. I love the blissful berry and fuchsia lipstick from Maybelline. You can apply the lipstick once and not make it too harsh and bold.

Cheeks: Apply enough blush to show you are awake and glowing without over doing it.

Eyes: Who said you can't do a soft Smokey eye? Yes you can. Something like the photo above would be perfect. You can substitute the wing eyeliner with a softer black eyeliner, whichever you prefer. I use the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, which has plenty of neutral colors appropriate for the office, but any neutral palette is just fine.

Style tip: Try to prepare your outfits the day before, that way you are not feeling rushed and overwhelmed in the mornings.

Summer Dress

I was going through my closet this weekend and boy do I have a lot of dresses. I think its that time again where I spend countless hours in the closet figuring out what I should keep and donate. I already see myself saying, "Oh, there is my favorite top I was looking for!" In fact, I totally forgot I had purchased this cute colorful knit dress last week. Perfect timing! Summer is finally here.

Office Dress

I can't get enough of dresses and skirts. I was on a hunt to find a comfortable, sleeveless, and easy to style dress for work and this one fit the description. What caught my attention to purchase the dress was the illusion of a peter pan collar. The dress has a vintage/modern style feel to it, which I love. To compliment the dress, I went with a strappy wedge shoe with rounded peep-toe which goes perfectly well together.

4x4 STYLE: DENIM SHORTS

It's denim time! Grace from Fashionedible, Alyssa from Runway Chef, Luci from Luci's Morsels, and myself teamed up once again to show you how to style denim shorts four ways. Depending on the occasion and your choice of style, either one of these looks could be a perfect summer look.

How would you style denim shorts? Show us on Twitter or Instagram using #4x4style.

I'm loving the headscarf trend for summer. This is the perfect accessory to add some color and fun to your wardrobe. To top it off, I added cat eyeglasses to give it a touch of retro. This look would be something I would wear to the county fair or even a day of sight seeing.

Slouchy Style

This weekend was a successful one. Hubby and I took our dog to Fiesta Island (doggy land) and he had a blast! I'm finally starting to see BBQ grills, jet skis, the chicas in bathing suits, and warm weather. Oh yea, summer is approaching rather quickly and I love it! Are you ready for it?

I decided to pay a visit to one of my favorite boutiques here in San Diego, Francesca's. I went with the intention of finding some cute printed shorts for the summer and, lo and behold, this cutie made its presence be known. I love the slouchy style of these shorts and how it has pockets! Plus, the silky soft sateen is perfect for summer, especially for those warmer days. These shorts could be paired with a simple tee and sandals (casual) or a blouse and some cute wedges (dress up). I chose to wear flats for comfort.

LWD: Boho Chic

I'm excited to be doing a collaboration with these two fabulous stylish women Paulina from Lilbitsofchic and Johnnybell from NyTrendyMoms. We teamed together to share with you three different ways on how you could style your LWD. Make sure you check out their blogs for more details on their looks!

I've always been a fan of the bohemian style and how it's eclectic yet intriguing. The best part of this style is that you can incorporate pieces to your liking while creating a boho-chic style that represents your individuality. With my look, I decided not to go overboard with accessories but instead, I chose softer colors and delicate pieces which make the look feminine and dainty.

REMIX: Polka Dot Sweater

With my first remix post, I styled a lace dress two ways. Today's remix is a polka dot sweater with skinnies, shorts, and a skirt. When selecting a particular clothing piece, you want to ensure it has the versatility. The more looks you can create, the better. With this sweater, I have the option to play with my look, of course it depends on what kind of mood I'm in or the occasion. Remember, you don't have to break the bank to create a fabulous look. Focus on your main piece and create that look around it. At the end, if you feel comfortable and beautiful, that's all that matters.

Have fun mixing!

Gifts for Father's

Why are men so hard to buy for? It's always a mission when Father's Day rolls a long. However, my dad is pretty simple and to the point. Buy him a gift card from Home Depot or Lowe's and the man is as happy as a fat kid loves cake. Although, I need to change it up on my old man. Picture a rocker minister (yes, that's my dad) I sometimes think he swears he was Steve Perry in another lifetime. To make him still think he's got it, I have to keep his favorite kicks i.e. converse sneakers up-to-date. That man could be dressed up and will leave the house wearing converse, no joke! I swear dad needs a fashion intervention but the man won't budge. He may be a little off with his sense of style, but that's what makes him unique. So, long story short buy your dad, husband, brother, or friend a gift that represents who he is and what they truly want or need.

Multi-Colored

I finally wore the dress I had purchased from TJMaxx a week ago. The combination of denim and  multi-colored bottom puts the whole dress together just perfectly. This is a perfect casual dress for walks in the park or just a coffee date with friends. For comfort and warmness, I wore my favorite boots which pretty much go with anything. Lastly, I added a headpiece to give it a playful bohemian touch.

Statement Wedges

The first time I wore these wedges was for the Marie Claire photo shoot I did a couple of months ago. I love the bold, bright colors and unique design it has; I also like how the soles have a hint of pink in them. It's safe to say these wedges make a statement itself. I decided to stick with hues of blues, yellow, and a touch of pink with my nail polish.  Overall, the look is not too overpowering but instead just enough spunk to make you stand out.
