Tour Guide

This weekend was all about sight seeing and spending quality time with my parents. It's their first time in San Diego, so a tour of the city is a must! Because touring could be a little overwhelming and strenuous, I planned to keep my outfits simple and cozy to keep me warm. How did I manage to accomplish that? By wearing layers and boots! You can never go wrong with a jacket or boots. Comfort and warmth at its best!

Perfect Harmony

Break out the hot cocoa and eggnog - it's finally chilly in San Diego!! Now I get to layer layer!! Layering is easy and fun because you can be creative while most importantly keeping warm. For today's outfit, I chose to wear black leggings under a mustard colored skirt. The leggings allowed a transition from the "Fall" skirt to a wintery look which is a great tip for remixing outfits. The vest combo with the long sleeve floral sweater surprisingly went well together and all-n-all, it gave my outfit a balanced look that sang a perfect harmony.

Dramatic

It can be challenging to be fashionably acceptable when working at an office full time. One thing to consider is your companies dress code. This factor will bring expectations, therefore, altering your mindset altogether. In today's outfit post, I was able to achieve a sophisticated look. I personally love tops with unique designs that add a dramatic flare to the outfit. Of course, a bold necklace that never fails to bring a pop to the outfit, while keeping the "dramatic" top grounded. If you run around the office like me, I recommend a dressy pointy toe pair of flats for a modern chic look. Remember, the main goal is to look cute without trying too hard.

Holiday Dress

How many of you have started searching for the holiday dress? I have! Well, sort of. While searching for booties on Forever 21's website, I came across these two lovely dresses and fell for them rather quickly. The metallic A-line dress is a perfect night-out-of-town New Years dress while the floral lace screams classic-romance for an indoor party. Which one is your favorite?

Accomplishment

What a weekend this has been! I finally accomplished one of my goals; I am a college graduate!! wuju! It's been a crazy week full of agendas, but so worth it. My parents flew in from Orlando to witness their only daughter be the first in the family to earn a degree. What an accomplishment! I couldn't have done it without my support system - my family and husband. It's amazing how pushing ourselves to the limit eventually leads to success with an outcome of becoming better than we were before. Don't set limits to yourself and trust that you can accomplish anything! With that being said, an inspirational quote that would help me through the day... "It matters not how strait the gate, how charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul." -William Ernest Henley

Let's talk about these burgundy colored booties..how adorable, right? I was desperately looking for a good affordable pair, and voila! Forever 21 surprised me. It's the perfect color and style for an autumn wardrobe.

Hipster

Say what? A short sleeve shirt in November? Yup! That's San Diego for ya. Our winter months seem to not be able to stay below the 60's. Not that I am complaining or anything, it's just that a girl wants to layer up! So to stay in the spirit of fall wear, I incorporated fall colored pieces to a laid-back casual hipster look. I guess visiting North Park (hipster town) over the weekend rubbed off on me.

Once Again

Given the fact that I am a style blogger, it is safe to assume that I have an indefinite amount of clothes in my closet. With that being said, I love artistically remixing pieces in my closet that best fits the occasion. It wasn't until I started my blog is when I realized that I can create many different outfits by reusing items that I already own...so I better stop complaining that I don't have any clothes!

I love how one dress can be worn many times but with different looks. It's time to get creative! The goal for today was to incorporate an edgy look by adding a vest and booties with this dress. I think it did the trick! I can't wait to reveal my next look involving this same dress. *Hint* It involves Denim!

Denim jackets and I have that special kind of relationship. The kind where I know it'll always have my back (no pun intended!) and look great no matter what. Luckily, we can get away with wearing them all year long! We could wear it as an outerwear for those chilly days or use it as a layering piece for winter staple. So to help you keep your look interesting, here a couple of ways you could style a denim jacket without it being so "blah."

Guilty

So sue me; I can't let go of skinny's and cardigans. It's the appropriate wardrobe for this San Diego so-called weather which is 70 degrees all year long (am I really complaining?!?). I've come to the realization that the cold weather will not be here any time soon. I have leg warmers and scarves that would like to make a debut! I think its time to knock on mother nature's door.
