Keeping things in Line

I've noticed I've replaced my love for floral print with stripes. Now, don't get me wrong, my obsession over floral's still exists; however, stripes are becoming my favorite thus far, especially because of its versatility! If you go to my closet, you would see lots of black and white stripe tops. With that being said, a stripe dress was on top of the list! Little did I know, Old Navy has a good selection of stripe styled dresses and at an affordable price...ching, ching! After browsing through all their stripe selections, I dropped this navy blue and white dress into my shopping cart. Although the sleeves are hiding, I love how they are the opposite color of the dress (this makes it fun and different). Another plus, the dress is not too form fitting but has enough room for you to breathe.

Third times a charm! Finding the right pair of black pants could be quite challenging. How is that you may ask? Well, you buy that one pair of pants that fades with just two washes, so you have no choice but to invest in a new pair. You think the second one does the trick.....think again. Back to hunting....that's when you find the "ONE" and the rest is history. I found these Jessica Simpson pants at TJMaxx and it so happens that the clothing rack was right next to the cash register, which obviously caught my attention. The material, the length, the fit, it's just perfect! It's not too tight and not too loose but still form fitting. Let me tell you, I can't get enough of these. I am not going to lie, I wear them at least twice a week with no shame in my game (they are perfect for the office!). I promise, these are the best bottoms I've found. As a matter of fact, I may just go buy another pair. Finally, a designer who gets it right! Kudos Jessica.

Perfectly Fitted

When putting this outfit together, my goal was to stay away from the typical black & white and pop-of-color combo. Instead, I opted for a faded gray shirt and tan moto jacket to bring the look from dressy to semi-casual. I love how I can still have my casual comfort but feel feminine in this pencil skirt, which by the way is my favorite! The material in the skirt is perfectly fitted and made in a stretch jacquard-knit jersey. The idea of styling more than one look with this skirt makes me very happy!

Lucky Fabb 2014

Brace yourselves: this will be a mini-long post...but so worth reading!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I visited Los Angeles this past weekend to attend my second Lucky Magazine - Lucky Fabb Conference. For those who are unaware of what Lucky Fabb entails, it's a fashion and beauty conference where fashionistas and beauty bloggers come together to learn how to become a successful blogger, be different, and authentic. Our panelists consisted of amazing talented business women who provided valuable information.

The Editor-In-Chief, Eva Chen was the sweetest most down-to-earth lady; very humble and sincere. She took it upon herself to mingle with bloggers for a little while and pose for pictures. Aside of gaining valuable information from the panels, the best part is meeting your favorite bloggers that you follow. Let me just say, they are so sweet in person and adorable!

I finally met Naty Michele from A love affair with fashion. I admire her and will to inspire others. Such an inspirational girl!

Lets just talk about the power of social media! Prior to meeting Shanna from Because Shanna Said So, I saw she posted a pic in the hotel we were staying her and I, and we were in the same spot without even knowing it. I felt such a stalker and was telling my other fellow bloggers, she's here! Lol Let me just say, I love this girl. She's seriously one of my favorites and is so humble. She keeps it real and has such a big heart. When she was walking out, I grabbed her arm and that was it! Instant, "OMG! Finally, we meet!" and that my friend, is why I love this blogging community.

All-in-all, my first conference experience still stands as my favorite; however, every conference has its unique twists. I see new faces each time and always learn something new. If you are an upcoming blogger or have been in the game for quite some time and have yet to attend one of these conferences, I highly recommend you attend. I promise you will leave more confident than you were before with so much knowledge to be better than before. You will meet new faces and create an unbreakable bond...with that being said...

My San Diego Bloggers, you girls are just out-freaking-standing! My roomies, Paulina from Lil Bits of Chic and Daisy from Daisy's Fashion Garden, thank you for being the best! Hopefully we do this again next year. Remember, at the end of the day, it's the friendships you create and like Paulina would say...#youCANsitwithus.

Sorry for the quality on some of these pictures. They were taken with an Iphone.

I love the idea of incorporating two black and white prints and a touch of color to a look. It brings the outfit up a notch for some sophistication and chicness. Adding a fitted faux leather blazer such as this one will polish the look beautifully. How chic is this black and white purse? I mean, done deal!
