Hump Day Rules!

It's Hump Day Peepz!! Today we are going to look at the glass half full because we are half way through the week!  So, in order to get that good vibe going, why not start by picking a fun, comfortable, yet versatile outfit.  You can make this selection work for date night, girls night out, and a casual Friday at the office. What's a general rule to make this kind of outfit work for you?  Real simple, just follow these easy do's and don't s:  Pick your favorite accessory and make that ONE piece your statement.  Why one?  Well, because we don't want the accessories to out-stage that beautiful blouse you found at the mall after 2 to 3 hours of browsing around.  Now, a quick what not to do with this outfit; this is a nice and simple blouse, so make sure your shoes reflect the same.

Utility Vest

And so it begins...the temperature dropped just a tad bit over the weekend, which means fall is just around the corner. I'm glad I bought this utility vest just in time to start wearing lighter layers. For the warmer days, this look can easily work without the vest and some cute sandals. For a fall look, pairing these feminine shorts with this vest and booties gives it the right balance; still feminine but with a little oomph. I love the loose style of these shorts; it makes it look like a skirt...something different and fun!

Floral Foliage

Can I get a high-five for this blouse? Adorable! What called my attention was the vibrant blue and of course, the floral foliage print.  I wore this last night for a girl's night out at a country night bar & grill. I love the open back with a little bow tie; it gives it the perfect girly touch. Since it's a loose top, I wanted to pair it with skinny jeans to give it the right balance. I don't own a pair of country boots, but these faux suede booties with leather strap are pretty darn close.

Yes to change

Holy mother of jeans I'm wearing something else besides skinny's. My husband looks at me and says, "you look like one of the chicks from That 70's Show," well, thank you babe! Not sure if that was a compliment or he just wasn't feeling it, but hey, It's good to get out of the comfort zone and explore new trends. Speaking of exploring, Aeropostale has recently launched a new campaign called AERONOW. It's a campaign that promotes change and a generation of now, "Are you who you were a year ago?" I honestly believe I've grown and learned so much this past year. Change is inevitable; however, the key is to stay true to my individuality and personality.

Transitional

Can't believe fall is just around the corner. I think it's time to make room for fall pieces, do you agree? {out with the old, in with the new!} For me, the best part of shopping is to buy pieces that could easily transition from summer to fall. With that being said, this floral kimono was a given. Not only does it go well with sleeveless tops and dresses, but also pairing with a long sleeve top will work as well.

Rock the look

I may have gone a little overboard last weekend shopping at Marshalls (can you blame me?). I saw this sleeveless chambray top and knew instantly it was coming home with me. One, it was affordable. Two, I could see myself wearing it more than once. Three, It's back to school shopping! duh! (Ok, I know I'm not in school but I needed an excuse to shop...shhh, don't judge) which, by the way, if I was in school...I would totally rock this look; however, I would add a cardigan for some coverage. Pairing the top with these vibrant colored shorts was a given; it gives it the right balance. To keep the look simple and comfy, I went with taupe colored booties.

Key Statement

Tired of wearing the same thing repeatedly? Trust me, I totally get it. What started off as a simple casual look (typical me) ended up a little dressier than I expected. Without a doubt, I knew this Prima Donna necklace would do the trick; what one simple statement does to an outfit, right?! Adding a key accessory to your wardrobe not only jazz's up a look, but also makes a huge impact on your style, which is what you want...versatility!

Slow it down

Squeeze them in while you can! Rompers have been my "go-to" style this summer; they are effortless and easy to style, especially these hot summer days. Instead of wearing the romper alone, I added a black vest and my new black fringe purse, which I can't stop using! (full fringe obsession) for a simple edgy look. By the way, is it just me or is summer flying? I mean, can it slow down just a tad bit? Sun, beach, cocktails...I'm not ready to let it go! (in my Elsa voice).

Bottoms up

My favorite denim style is the skinny jeans. Depending on the occasion, and how I am feeling, I like to pair mine with a loose top to give it a nice balance to the tight jeans and cover the love handles...if you know what I mean ;) (I did major damage while on vacation...need to hit the gym asap!)

It feels good to be back! I had a BLAST in Puerto Rico. We planned this trip three weeks prior to leaving without telling anyone in PR, except my brother-in-law because we were staying with him. My mother-in-law was shocked we were there. It was such an epic surprise! Day three of our trip she still couldn't believe we were there. Mission accomplished!

We enjoyed the weather, the beach! Oh my God and the river....breathtaking! (for pictures, check out my Instagram or Facebook). We ate like there was no tomorrow, and I mean, fried food at 2am after drinking all afternoon. LOL! Yeah, we had a blast!

The day before we left Puerto Rico, I dropped my camera and broke my 50mm lens!! Yea...I was so mad. (Only I would do such a thing..smh). So for now, I will have to use my 17-40mm lens until I get the lens fixed (I doubt it's fixable) or buy a new one.

Hope you have a good Monday! :)
