The entry way of a home or apartment should set the tone for the rest of the house. Once you enter, you should have a general idea of what kind of style the homeowner has. Choose pieces that compliment your style while also being able to show those pieces have a practical application. Yes, it's okay to have a window frame on the wall as decoration (and yes, we know that window has no use other than decor) but by combining it with a nice entry way table and some flowers, now the entire look flows very nicely with no real effort. All you need to do is find those pieces that will complement each other. As I mentioned before, I sometimes get my inspiration from Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper on HGTV) who has an amazing gift when it comes to envisioning a look and then making it a reality. If I learned anything from her is that any piece new or old has potential. Try mixing pieces and at the end of the day, you will find that look. Remember, have fun and don't be afraid to try new things! Stay shabby-chic, and of course....Dainty!
