Happy Memorial Day

While we gather with family and friends on this Memorial Day, let's never forget the true meaning behind this holiday. Many paid the ultimate sacrifice so you and I can sleep better at night. So while you take a sip of that beer, remember to have one for those who can't anymore. We will never forget the fallen. God Bless America!

DaintyJea will be back on regular schedule, Wednesday. Be safe and enjoy your Memorial Day!

3 Tips for Postpartum Wear

When I became pregnant, I followed a couple pregnant bloggers and noticed most of them were all belly (nothing wrong with that, but how do they do it?!). Yea, little ol' me gained 32 pounds when I was pregnant and I swear, I think most of it went to my chest. While I try not to put so much pressure on myself,  I can't help but think how on earth should I dress and still feel confident? To the first time mommy's who've recently had a baby...you are not alone. I know it can be a bit overwhelming on what to wear without looking like a hot mess! First and foremost, stop being so hard on yourself. This is real life! We are not all going to be slim right away (well some of us). So in the mean time, we have to work with what we have. The key is to be confident in who you are. With that being said, I wanted to share three pointers on how to dress that postpartum bod.

1. V-Neck tops. For the momma's with big chests, this one is for you. I went from a B to DD. Exactly! I promise, V-necks are your best friend. They give the illusion of smaller breast which is always a plus!

2. Skinny jeans. Wearing a flowy top while keeping the bottom fitted will balance your look without having to try so hard.

3. Wear black. A classic rule that shouldn't surprise anyone. Wearing black makes me look slimmer…so of course this is the way to go!

Happy 4th Blog Anniversary, DaintyJea!

If you're wondering why the random items on today's blog post It's because today marks 4 years of my DaintyJea blog! So much has happened since I began this roller coaster of a ride...I got married, we purchased our first home! And after many years of trying to conceive, we finally become parents to beautiful baby Emily Isabelle on Mar 17th, 2016. Such a beautiful journey it has been! Maintaining a blog has its challenging times but my passion for sharing my style has not subsided. I'm not going to lie, now that I'm a mom with a full-time job (can't forget those wife duties), there are days I've been super overwhelmed.  At the end of the day, I remind myself of how lucky I am to have an outlet that provides so many opportunities that continue to make me a better person. With that being said, the show must go on! I've met wonderful people, attended blog conferences, and have learned SO much on how to become a better blogger. I hope this year brings more knowledge and fun content! Cheers to 4 years!

Back At It Again

I'm back with the off the shoulder top trend! I'm seriously obsessed and cannot get enough of how cute they are. While going through Lulus, I gravitated towards this particular top that I'm wearing in these photos. I've seen plenty off the shoulder tops but the beautiful lace and scallop trim on the bottom of the top was too cute to pass. I love how I can pair it with shorts this time around, and not to mention, my favorite flat leopard sandals!

Print Shift Dress

Shocker...no tight or fitted pieces for today's look;  However,  I am definitely working on burning that baby weight off. More on that later. Spring and Summer wardrobe is all about loose and breezy outfits anyway ha! Lately, I've gravitated toward more feminine and chic. With that being said, I had to check out one of my favorite online stores Lulus to stock up on some new wear for the warmer days. This  Shift and Shout Coral Red Multi Print Shift Dress was my first choice. For those that know me, I'm a fan of prints and colorful dresses so I knew this dress will work for any occasion. From a day in the office to a date night with the husband, it works! I love how I can dress it down by wearing flats with a jean jacket or as you can see here, adding a statement necklace and heels for a upscale look. The end result is to invest on pieces that have more than one way to style.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine consisted of taking care of my little one, house chores, and of course, wife duties! I started working out (for real this time) this weekend with my brother and let me just say, I'm out of shape! It's been over a year since I've worked out so I'm slowly getting back to the groove of things. I love how I did not let my baby weight stop me from coming back to blogging. Not going to lie, I'm not where I want to be physically but I missed blogging so much that I had to jump right into it. Hopefully, in the near future, I can share a few tips on how to work out with your little one? Would you all be interested? Let me know! Happy Monday!

Nashville

From a comfortable tee to these fabulous leopard flats, how much more of a weekend outfit can it get? Now that I'm a mommy, it's important to be comfortable, however that doesn't mean boring!  The way I spice things up is by pairing a statement necklace with a hat as you can see in this look. What I love about these two pieces is that there are so many ways to wear it. Get creative and I promise you can't go wrong! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Off the Shoulder Top

Off the shoulder pieces are a pretty style to try for warmer days with its effortless look. It has a sexy appeal to it without overdoing and exposing too much. The first time I tried this trend I went with a white off shoulder floral print dress (side note: I was pregnant and didn't even know it!) I love how I can pair this top with any piece; whether it's shorts or a skirt...it works! I have a feeling this top will be making its way back to the blog. Love!

Wedding Guest Dress

Wedding Season is upon us and lets face it, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to figure out what to wear for the occasion. I was a little hesitant in wearing a fitted dress after having a baby but I couldn't help but be drawn to the vibrant patterns and playful colors of this dress...it was calling my name! It's the perfect staple for wedding season and any occasion. Speaking of occasion, I wore this dress for Mother's Day and received compliments on how beautiful it is.

How to style a Acid Wash Denim Vest

I have an obsession with denim vests. Every girl should own this classic piece and all of its variety of shades. I have to say my favorite thus far is this acid wash denim vest. Besides its 90's flare, it is the perfect staple for Spring and Summer and can change an outfit instantly. Whether you pair it with a maxi dress, a romper, or skinny jeans (if the vest is light, make sure the jeans are a darker color for contrast) you name it - it works and definitely worth the investment.
