3 ways to unwind after a stressful day

Whether you're a stay-at-home mom, a working momma, or a just a busy gal - in general,  life can get quite hectic no matter how much you try to pace yourself. I am a huge believer in "me" time. Super important, how else would I function?! For me, in order to be productive and give the best of me, I must have my alone time. I'm constantly on the "GO" and sometimes tackling two or three things at once and before you know it, I'm blown out! This is why, it's so important to give yourself a little time to unwind, relax and enjoy each day you're blessed you with. With that being said, here are some ways I love to unwind after a stressful day:

Watching a Show
My husband can attest to this. I'm a huge fan of TheReal daytime show. When I come home from work, it's straight to the kitchen to cook dinner. First thing I do, is turn on the TV, click recordings and watch "The Real," while still wearing my work clothes and my husband keeps little Emily occupied while I cook (He's such a good Daddy...I can't complain). I love watching these women because one, I can relate to them (I swear, me and Tamera are besties) and two, they keep it real! After a long stressful day, I just want to relax and have a girl's day - even if it's just a television show for an hour.

Have a Drink
Vino. The mommy juice! Because water or coffee is just not going to cut it. That simple!

Read
Although I haven't followed it through as much, I would like to make it a habit and read at least a couple of pages of a book before going to bed. Whether it's an inspirational book or the bible, reading something to keep me motivated before closing my eyes for the day is super helpful. Believe it or not, I tend to wake-up with more energy and motivated.

Lightweight Jacket

It's the last week of February, and I'm over this cold front we've got going on in San Diego. All I can think about is wearing pretty dresses, sandals, and lightweight jackets for spring. Luckily, I was able to pull off the perfect spring look over the weekend. Speaking of spring, you may ask, "What is that one staple piece I MUST have in my closet?" My answer: A lightweight jacket. Whether it be a utility jacket, trench coat, or a denim jacket, I promise, it's the perfect staple to throw over a dress or top when temperatures are a little more on the chilly side. I already own a light and dark denim wash but how pretty is this floral denim jacket? The perfect lightweight jacket for spring. Love!

If you're looking for a floral denim jacket, I've shared a few affordable ones down below you won't want to miss!

How To Style a Long Cardigan

When transitioning from winter to spring, layering is the way to go. Whether you wear it to the workplace or to a girl's night out, it's the perfect transitioning piece for any season. If you’re short, long cardi’s go best with low cut booties, but this time I wanted something different so I went with knee boots...because It’s cold down in So. Cal so I need to take advantage! Either way, long cardi’s add that extra oomph to a look. With that being said, below are some of favorite’s that will work for any season!

Is it time for another Baby

Tomorrow, my little Emily turns 23 months old, where did time go?! To think she will be a two year old next month is crazy. When everyone asks me, "Are you ready for baby number two?" To be quite honest, my answer is always, "If I could, I would just have Emily," But that’s because...
Not gonna lie, it's a lot of work; especially, if you're a full-time working mom and don't have family close by to help. I've always wish to have two children, a boy and a girl, Lord willing! So will see. But hey, you can never say never. If its meant for us, then it shall be. Then again, I'm not getting any younger, I'll be 36 this year so...it's time!

On another note, I’m finally sharing our maternity photos  with y'all! Have a great weekend!

How to style boot cut jeans

I don't remember the last time I wore boot cut jeans, for real. But when I do wear them, I like to style them with a fitted top (add a jacket for more of an edgy look!) to keep things a little more balanced - slim in the top, loose at the bottom.  However, for this look, I wanted something different so I went with a bell sleeve sweater. I love the idea of paring a bell sleeve top with boot cut jeans; how much more comfy can it get?! Remember, the main thing when styling boot cut jeans is wearing high-heeled shoes that have at least one to three inches.  Make sure your pants hit right above your boots/shoes or below your ankles.

Gibson Twist Front Top

It's official! I'm obsessed with twist front tops. The fact that Nordstrom has this top in 16 colors, I'm all for it! Plus, it's super lightweight, comfy and very flattering (make sure to size down). You can definitely wear this top to the workplace. I would style it with a good pair of Old Navy pixie pants and comfy shoes. Now, back to this casual look...I'm all about the military style jacket (It's the Army in me, I guess) so I paired it with my favorite slip-on's that I can't seem to stop raving about on Instagram. They are that good!! It's a comfortable look, yet girly approved!

The verdict is in! The Vega's will have a superbowl party, so make sure to follow me on Instagram for all the fun. GO PATS!!
